A local internal organizing effort led by Vice-President Jeff Taylor (Southwest Idaho) and assisted by Michelle Manning (North Idaho) Local 7818 (Spokane) resulted in an overwhelming majority of representation cards signed by the employees for the entire State of Idaho. The American Arbitration Association certified the election on May 12, 2008 and because of AT&T card check agreement CWA was recognized as bargaining representatives on June 9, 2008.

The internal effort was started because employees were interested in better healthcare and regular wage increases they had missed in the past years.

The Local has tried to organize previously with no success and only because of the employees we were SUCCESSFUL this go round.

AT&T has also acquired Edge Wireless in Idaho (Eastern Idaho), so they are growing at breakneck speed in the state. Local 7603 hopes to see this unit grow into our amalgamated local.

Three Stewards have stepped up to the plate in the Treasure Valley and all have attended Stewards Training . CWA appreciates all the employees for their hard work! WELCOME CWA Brother and Sisters!
